Bowie - Annapolis Field Day 2018

Students' family and friends are invited to spend an evening with Natural Leaders at Elks Camp Barrett to:  

  • Learn valuable wilderness survival skills
  • Play games
  • A campfire burrito dinner
  • Enjoy story-telling

Students will be teaching:
​
  • Making tinder from scratch
  • Edible and useful plants
  • Primitive trapping
  • Survival shelter​
​

​Event Information

Dinner: 

  • Burrito dinner includes options of ground turkey, beans, corn, rice, cheese, sour cream, and more.
  • Watermelon
  • Smores

How to prepare:
  • Dress for the weather, and to get dirty
  • Ideal footwear: running shoes or close-toed sandals suitable for running around and getting wet in.
  • If it's hot out, we may cool down by spraying with a water gun.
  • Bring a full water bottle in a small pack, we will have a refill station.
  • A small notepad and pen or pencil might come in handy
  • Snacks if desired
  • Bug spray 
  • Kids may need a change of clothes at the end of the day.
