Youth Programs

A strong connection to nature provides a great foundation for lifelong health, self-knowledge, and leadership.

Ages 4 to 6

An ideal age to begin a lifelong friendship with nature.

Ages 7 to 12

Peak excitement for exploring and skill building.

4 - 6: The Age of Discovery

Picture
Time to de-screen and discover!

Give your child the freedom to explore and feel at home in nature, the original, ultimate playground.

This will be an organic experience of stretching the senses, of getting hands and feet-on with mud, clay, sticks and leaves.

Your child will explore, build forts and create imaginary universes.  We may catch fish, salamanders, turtles or toads.

We love hiding and seeking and playing games, running, jumping, and climbing on logs and trees.  We spend time drawing, and listening to stories.

Summer doesn't get any better than this!

Weekly Program (September - June)

Nature discovery is the best day of the week!

During the academic year, I have some availability to conduct weekly programs for homeschoolers, preschoolers, or for your class.

A nature "power hour" goes a long way, and quickly becomes the  highlight of the week for many students and their parents who hear about it at home!

Family Camps

Real family time, with real skills, and some time to relax.

Escape the city and deepen your connection with nature, family and friends, while learning some of those awesome skills that you've been yearning for.

We can provide programming for you or for the kids, and can cook meals while you relax.

7 - 12: The Age of Exploration

Picture
The ultimate nature day camp!  Students have an amazing time, playing games, listening to stories and learning skills.  As as student at this camp you will:
  • Learn survival shelter.
  • Develop your fire-making skills.
  • Learn your basic tracks, trees, birds and beasts.
  • Learn to use plants for food, fiber and medicine, and which plants you must avoid.
  • Practice your aim with the one weapon you can count on having in the woods – the throwing stick, and to make a trap that can feed you.
  • Walk softly and silently, expand and sharpen your senses to see more – and remain unseen.
  • Practice knife safety and carving skills.
All of these skills take years to master, so your child is encouraged to attend multiple weeks of camp, and to come back year-after-year.
